The aim of this Highway between Tyr (South Lebanon) and Al-Masnaa (Syrian border point), long of 137 Km, is to improve and adjust the main east-west connection of the country.
The basic conceptual geometric design was based on international standard as Ashto, considering 2 alternatives: 2x2 lanes and 2x3 lanes in addition to a shoulder lane for each alternative.
The study covered the layout plans, longitudinal profiles and cross sections, with typical details for the particular structure: tunnels, flyovers, bridges, interchanges and road configiration.
Also, it consisted of the establishment of an economical study based on the local prices for similar projects.
